BACKGROUND
 

Visa and Actuate embarked on a journey to get merchants and their employees to understand, use and encourage Contactless payment.

We did this through:

  • Face-to-face training sessions

  • E-learning

  • Mystery shopping

Tap and pay

without delay!

We partnered with Shell to pilot the training. 60 sites participated in the training pilot, which was run in September 2018. These sites were based in Gauteng.

​

We facilitated 6 Train-the-Trainer sessions – 3 in Johannesburg and 3 in Pretoria, where we trained the onsite Quality Marshals on Contactless Payment and equipped them with tools and materials to train their employees on site.

​

The feedback received was great and it was decided to roll out the training to all Shell sites, nationwide.

​

In total we distributed 160 vouchers to 80 cashiers and 80 managers.
